Learning to Use Google Docs

Overview

In this activity you will be formatting the first eight pages of the classic story, The Wind in the Willows, so that it's easier to read and more interesting to look at. You will use Google Docs and turn your work in to me by sharing it.

Read all directions before completing the activity.

Instructions
  1. Download The Wind in the Willows.pdf. This is an example of what you want your final document to look like.
  2. Open Plain Text of The Wind in the Willows in a new tab.
  3. Open Google Drive in a new tab.
  4. Create a new Google Doc and name it like this: Last Name, First Name - Wind in Willows. For example, if your name is Luke Skywalker, your Google Doc would be named Skywalker, Luke - Wind in Willows
  5. Copy and past the plain text of The Wind in the Willows into the Google Doc you just created.
  6. Change the plain text to match the pdf you downloaded in step one, including adding the three images. Links to the three pictures are below.
  7. If needed, watch the tutorials below to help you with formatting your document.
  8. When you finish, share your document with me by clicking the Share button in the upper right hand corner of the document and entering my email address: nsenger@allsaintsspokane.net
